Gorgeously opaque, soft polymer clay for making jewellery, gems, homewares, figurines and sculptures. Cernit® Number One is a high quality modelling clay that is easy to work with, simple to shape and one of the strongest polymer modelling clays on the market. It has less stickiness that other brands of clay and, due to its softness, requires less conditioning and kneading. Bonus!
The Number One range is a classic collection of opaque colours, perfect for inter-mixing, adding mica and glitter too and using flat or 3d.
Cernit® clay can be cut with tissue blades, scissors and knives and needs to be baked at 130oC for around 30 minutes. Once baked, you can paint your clay with acrylic or watercolour paint, varnish or coat with epoxy resin, drill with a Dremel and, believe it or not, your finished piece will even be dishwasher safe!
Top tips: Cernit® polymer clay can change colour during baking - it's translucent base means that light colours will darken. We suggest baking a small piece first and keeping it as a reference for future makes. If the clay has become hard, use one drop of our Polymer Clay Conditioner to soften it. The Opaline range is not suitable for making canes.
