This Sweep Clock Movement clock mechanism is high quality and has a hanger for ease of display. The second hand (once purchased and fitted) moves in a smooth continuous sweeping motion instead of one second steps, meaning that the clock is quieter than a standard ticking movement. Batteries are not included, but we recommend using an AA size alkaline battery (as sweep movements use slightly more power than a standard movement).

Choice of measurements:

LONG SPINDLE: designed for dials up to 10mm thick (e.g. a thick resin geode of heavier piece of resin artwork). 70mm high (with hanger) x 55mm wide x 16mm deep (without spindle). The height of the movement without the hanger is 55mm. Centre hole needed in dial 8mm to 10mm. The full length of the Medium spindle (Movement case to tip of spindle) is 21mm.

MEDIUM SPINDLE: 70mm high (with hanger) x 55mm wide x 16mm deep (without spindle). The height of the movement without the hanger is 55mm. Centre hole needed in dial 8mm to 10mm. The full length of the Medium spindle (Movement case to tip of spindle) is 18mm

SHORT SPINDLE: 70mm high (with hanger) x 55mm wide x 16mm deep (without spindle). The height of the movement without the hanger is 55mm. Centre hole needed in dial 8mm to 10mm. The full length of the Medium spindle (Movement case to tip of spindle) is 13mm.

Fitting Instructions:

Movement: To make a clock you will need an 8mm to 10mm hole in the dial. Place the rubber washer (supplied) over the movement spindle and push the spindle through the hole from the back of the dial. Place a brass washer (supplied) over the spindle (this covers any small chips or ragged edges around the hole), then just tighten the brass nut (supplied) on the thread until the movement is held firmly. Please be careful not to over tighten the nut as this can distort the cogs in the movement and stop it from working.
