Daler-Rowney System 3 Acrylic is a soft body paint that can be used straight from the tube or thinned with water to create washes. Quick-drying, use these acrylics for adding colour to polymer clay and painting on the cured surface of JESMONITE®.

Forming an invisible film when dry, these easy to use paints can be used on the edge of canvasses, straight onto MDF board before coating in resin and even painted between layers of resin to create depth.

Daler-Rowney System 3 Acrylics are versatile water-based colours made from high quality pigments. System3 Acrylic colours are lightfast, permanent (ranking from 3 to 4 stars for most of the colours), opaque, flexible and quick drying, making them suitable for applications on multiple surfaces both indoor and outdoor.

Check out the tabs below for some handy tips from the team.

Lou's top tip: When painting with acrylics, be experimental. Try applying them with palette knifes, or even bank cards! Try layering them with tissue paper for texture and mix them into glue for a shiny textured finish. Add floetrol to them to make them a pouring acrylic.

You can use acrylic paints in all mixed media projects, but be wary of adding too much water when using on canvas to avoid streaks.

For all practical applications these acrylic paints are classed as non-toxic. However, we suggest wearing nitrile gloves, or using a barrier cream while working with epoxy resin and we advise against eating, drinking or smoking while working.
