Whoops! We all make mistakes, right? Well, Kate ordered clock boards with the wrong size hole! However, they work perfectly as MDF circles if you tape over the teeny tiny hole on the back. This Wonky Stock MDF Circle is 25cm across by 3mm deep and has a 4mm hole...
Well, Kate ordered clock boards with the wrong size hole! However, they work perfectly as MDF circles if you tape over the teeny tiny hole on the back. This Wonky Stock MDF Circle is 25cm across by 3mm deep and has a 4mm hole in the centre.
Not suitable as a clock face, unless you drill out the hole, but great as an MDF circle base for resin artwork.
Our 3mm thick boards are the highest quality, light in colour and extra-finely sanded for a smooth finish on both sides. We like to use these substrates as the base for coasters and placemats and, of course, we love to create beautiful resin beach scenes. These art boards are just the ticket for dirty pours, fluid art, geodes and mixed media masterpieces. They are also suitable for pyrography so can be personalised with names or patterns before adding your resin.
Why resin onto MDF?
It's cost-effective and time-saving.
It's light-weight - therefore not adding bulk to your projects and costing you less to post out to your customers! Also weighs less when hung on the wall, or being added to canvas.
No prep required - yes you can prime the surface first with PVA, Gesso or the like, but if, like us, you're always in a rush, just resin and go!
Perfect for mixed media masterpieces - gild it, add crystals to it, crackle glaze it, paint it, stick stamps on it... our MDF shapes are pretty versatile!
It smells so good - as our shapes have been laser-cut you can smell that gorgeous "recently burnt wood" smell that we all love at wintertime.
Makes resining even more of a pleasure! If it's a little dusty just give it the once over with a brush or damp cloth.
Top Tip: Use our edge it paint around the sides of your artwork to create a professional finish. Teacher Lou also likes to paint the back of the surface in chalk paint and pen a short note to her customers which can be easily removed if needed
