Resin8 Rainbow Mica Collection

The best things come in 7's. It's many peoples lucky number in fact, and our Rainbow Mica Collection contains 7 spectral shades of shimmering natural mica powder for adding to resin.
  • Fiery fusion - bright red with peachy undertone
  • Clementine pop - talk about pop - a bright orange full of shimmer
  • Buttercup - highly reflective, buttery yellow
  • Pistachio - lovely green with blue undertones and shimmering silver
  • Electric Blue - wham bam, this colour is intense
  • Purple Passion - dark yet bright passionate purple
  • Virtuous Violet - pale lilac with vibrant blue undertones
This collection contains 7 x 5g mica tubs or 7 x 50g mica tubs, depending on which size you choose.

Did you know... you can also use mica powder with polymer clay (either dry over unbaked clay for an all-over shimmer or mixed in to create a through and through iridescence).

Resin8 Mica Powder is a high purity, cosmetic grade, natural pearlescent powder to add gorgeous shimmer to clear resin. The small micron size of this powder gives great cover and dispersion and you only need a tiny amount to create lustrous effects. Our mica powder is vegan friendly and ethically sourced - we do not buy from Indian mines who exploit children as workers. Full MSDS available for each colour on request.

What is natural mica powder? Natural coloured mica powder is made from mineral rocks that have been refined and purified. A complex process involving mica flakes, iron oxides and ultramarines turns these powders into the cosmetic (non artificial coloured) eyeshadow that we all know and love today. Mica powder has become increasingly popular with artists and craftspeople in recent years and we are pleased to say it provides excellent effects when added to resin.

Does it matter if it's cosmetic grade if you're using it in epoxy resin? No, but cosmetic grade means that the mica powder is of the highest purity and has been refined to super-high standards. Also, the lower the micron size, the more shimmer the mica powder will have. Higher micron size micas are more sparkly than shimmery and will not go as far.
